This place is my heaven on Earth, my nirvana, my silver lining. I think you get the picture. It's so hard to put my love for Cherry Republic into words but I will try so hard because I want you all to understand and appreciate and order tons and tons of Cherry Republic stuff because *surprise!* they deliver!!! Yes, you won't need to visit Michigan to partake in this awesomeness, but if you are ever within say, five hours of Cherry Republic, GO. Just do it. You can thank me later. So basically everything here is good because all goods do contain cherry something or other. I've only scratched the surface of my Cherry Republic list, which includes: cherry salsa, cherry chips, chocolate covered cherries, cherry tea and coffee, cherry wine, cherry soda, cherry cookie, cherry scones, cherry summer sausage, cherry sour patches (at this point I'm sure you're judging and I simply don't care), cherry wine, and just straight up dried cherries, hehe. This is the place for all your cherry needs, folks. Remember - you can order online! Yay!

FYI : I am not a CHERRY FAN/ FANATIC. But I loved the place. I really liked the idea that you could try almost each and everything and there were some really interesting flavors out there. I really liked the JAM sections, especially JALAPENO was sweet and had a kick to it. But, you could spend about an hour easily in this store going around and they also have a $1 float on weekends which is super cool.

We did the touristy stuff and had a few free tasting samples of dips. They have a kids play area, very big with lots of counters and even free wine tasting area.My girlfriend and i sneaked a chance to get some tasting done and after one pour we were completely ignored so we walked out after buying a few irresistable goodies like jams and jellies

Wonderful little spot downtown. Lots of treats to buy. And there is a cafe in the back. There's also a cute indoor playground!

The friendliest people in town. I love their store with everything cherry you can imagine, but I especially love their cherry, blue cheese, bacon fig pizza...holy cow that stuff was so good!!!

    (5)
  • Mirabelle L.

It's an attraction itself! Been to the Ann Arbor one before but this one is much bigger in scale! Many things to sample that are made with cherries! Tried cherry soda but it was alright. Cherry salsa is pretty good though!!

  • Laurence K.

Everything cherry!! I mean this place has cherry everything Best part is the sample almost everything! From jams and jellies to chocolate covered to wine tastings and soda tastings def stop by and try some! You'll end up buying something

Wish I would have ate at the cute cafe! Got a great recommendation for cherry wine while I was there and loved the cute tasting sample stands within the store. Lots to choose from and friendly staff!!

    (5)
  • Daniel H.

Almost anything you can think of, they've cherrified it. Bottle of pop, wine, jam, bbq sauce, salsa, etc. Lots of samples so you can see if the cherry kick is worth getting. Worth stopping by just for the novelty of it, grab some food items to enjoy later while you reminisce about beautiful Traverse City.

I've been coming here for years. There are a good selection of cherry products. Also, they gift wrap, which is always nice for taking back gifts! It's fun to sample the wine and pop, too. It's a tourist thing to do in Traverse City, but it's still fun every time I come here. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

    (5)
  • Mikayla B.

Oh my goodness... You cannot miss this place. It has absolutely adorable decor, a good feel, and most important - free samples! It has been newly remodeled, and the cafe is perfect for all ages. I had the cherry barbecue pulled pork which was AMAZING. Be sure to grab a few free chocolate covered cherries and some more for the road!

    (5)
  • Rhonda D.

Went into the store for the first time, cherry products and gifts neatly arranged and the atmosphere in there was electric. Bought some chocolate covered cherries which were delicious, sales staff very nice and made us feel very welcomed, will be back!!!

Really nice place. Newly remodeled to include a cafe. The Cuban sandwich was really good!! Of course the free wine tasting was nice too!

If you can't make it out to Glen Arbor, this embassy in Traverse City will certainly do the trick. Now, it's not as expansive or has as much charm as the main location, obviously, and this place is full of the sometimes-pushy Traverse City tourists who walk on in to have seconds and thirds of the many free samples that are out. Sometimes the folks at the Stomp House (the wine bar) have a hard time keeping everything under control, like today when several people were waiting for free wine tastings while one of the staff behind the counter was hopelessly confused when filling two growlers. But don't let the craziness stop you from going in there to get whatever cherry delight is calling your name, because this place is so darn good and has such delicious snacks and treats. Come here if you must, but I really think that you would love the main Republic out in Glen Arbor.

I have a severe dairy allergy and was deliberately lied to about the ingredients. After ingesting the breaded concoction, I immediately started noticing symptoms so I had no choice but to speak to a manager. After waiting for what felt like forever, he tried turning the situation around like it was my fault for asking 3 of the present employees about the ingredients instead of demanding to speak to him directly. I've always been a fan of cherry republic but I'm very dissatisfied with their lack of knowledge and respect. I'm not one to write reviews, but this isn't the first time I've gotten sick from their careless mistakes!.. Just ask the manager if you have any food allergies and you should be fine. I personally will not be going back due to the amount of disrespect the manager displayed towards me today.

Awesome place! Free wine and soda tasting (all cherry of course) cherry salsas, bbqs, candy and more! Nice cafe in back of the store too for lunch. Great store for buying cherry items from the cherry capital!

    (5)
  • John S.

Value of lunch, $25. Cost, $50. Time to receive food was fairly long, but we were all starving after walking all morning so it have just seemed that way. We had ice cream there after lunch and it was a much better value than lunch. Kids cones are only $1.50 and turns out are the exact same size as single, so save yourself a couple bucks and order kids cone instead. They have a winery a couple doors down. Had a glass of cherry spiced wine and sat outside on the deck and drank while listening to some guy work a saxophone.

  • Sarah H.

A friend recommended that we stop here on our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed!!! The staff there was super friendly, the store itself is beautiful, and they have a wide variety of products, (most of which they sample, including their beverages!!!) We loved their sodas and root beers. Their BBQ sauce is amazing too! This will definitely be a regular stop for us when we're in the Traverse City area!

    (5)
  • Megan K.

LOVE this place. Wine tasting is free. Just remember to tip! Free samples of deliciousness everywhere. Chocolate covered cherries. Snacks. Jams. Salsa. There is also some box type thing for kids to get in. I'm not sure what the hell it is, there was a kid in it and I didn't want to be that creeper staring in on her. They have really good sodas too.

    (5)
  • Stephanie D.

This is a great joint on Front Street in Traverse City that specializing in making anything with cherries. From ketchup to wine to candy it's all about the cherries. I came for the wine and was very impressed with the Conservancy which is their 100% cherry wine. I recommend walking around and eating samples that are delicious and find a few things to take home with you. I walked out with a bottle of wine wishing I could have purchased a case!!!

    (4)
  • Amy M.

This place is great! What a wide variety of items - so many choices it was hard to just pick a few. I absolutely love that they have samples out of most of the items. I probably bought more items because I had to have them after my taste test. I did buy the cherry dusted tortillas. That one was a struggle for me because that was one of the few items with no sample and the small bag is $7. They are ok. I wouldn't buy them again but knew if I didn't try them I would just wonder. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they will ship items for you if you want to send a gift or can't take the containers on a plane! Great store!

    (4)
  • Mrs. And Mr. G.

I wish if they open in the suburbs of Detroit, like troy area. Try the dried fruits with nuts! The best!

  • Susan B.

I officially love cherries. I never thought that I liked cherries as much as I do now. I also can't have a piece of local (Chicago) cherry pie without wishing it was a cherry pie from Traverse City. I think I developed an addiction and Cherry Republic just fueled my fire. This place has everything cherry that you can think of. Chocolate covered cherries, dried cherries, sour gummy cherries, cherry tea, cherry salsa, cherry preserves, cherry butter...you get the point. I got a few cherry items and I am afraid to eat them because I don't want to run out. Luckily enough for me, Cherry Republic has online ordering. When making a purchase in the store, they offer nice gift boxes for no additional charge! I also had a few random bags from other stores and the girl was sweet enough to give me a larger bag to carry all my loot! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the samples! They have tons of samples out so you are able to try almost everything! Check this place out...you won't be disappointed!

    (5)
  • Jemmie W.

If Forrest Gump and Bubba had gone into the cherry business instead of the shrimp business, they would have opened up Cherry Republic... Cherry wine, cherry milk chocolate, cherry dark chocolate, cherry trail mix, cherry salsa, dried cherries, etc. etc. etc. You are in cherry country. When traveling, experience the things that are relatively unique to the area you are in. Cherry Republic in cherry country where the national cherry festival is held every year is the quintessential example of that. Drop by and check it out. What's cool is they have samples of almost everything out.

    (5)
  • Kristine N.

Free: cherry wine tasting, crackers with assorted cherry jams and butters, chips and cherry salsas, cherry pies, and assorted cherry mixed snacks. This is such a fun store with something for everyone!

    (5)
  • Amy W.

If you are just a tourist passing through Traverse City, do yourself a favor and drop by Cherry Republic. This is a great place to pick up some new food products or gifts for friends and family. The best part was the free wine tasting -- I walked away with about 12 bottles of wine because I simply couldn't make up my mind about which ones were my favorite! Jonathan (or John?), the staff who gave us the wine tasting, was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine, and also told us about several other recommendations for restaurants and events in the area.

    (5)
  • Hayley S.

Small little place in Glen Arbor. Relatively cheap, with a few options. I'd recommend the grilled cheese. If you are adventurous and are willing to try the cherry feta dip on it, you won't regret it. The cherry bread was also a nice touch!

    (4)
  • Shannon S.

It's crazy all the wonderful and unique food items, in general, you can pick up while visiting the Traverse City area. I just love it! This my second visit to Cherry Republic, first for this location. I visited the Glen Arbor location on my last visit. In the summer, I would highly reccommed visiting Glen Arbor, as the teeny-tiny city is something you will miss if you don't slow down and open your eyes..so OPEN your eyes! ;) There are a few little gift shops and restaurants in the area. When it's snowy try the CR in downtown TC... They still have all the goods...like White Chocolate Cherry Peanut Butter!! "nuff said ;-)

    (4)
  • Jessica S.

Love the free wine/pop tastings and free samples. Good setup and products. A little pricey. The staff was nice when I spoke to them but seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than greeting customers.

  • Carrie P.

FREE SAMPLES! It's something you should appreciate about a store that is as busy as Cherry Republic. Not only do they have an amazing variety of cherry-related items, but there are also samples of most of the items that they have for sale. Some of my favorites: Cherry wine Cherry Lemonade Cherry Cream Soda Cherry Root Beer Chocolate Covered Cherries Cherry Barbeque sauce Cherry Salsa I am a huge fan of cherries, especially the kind that are fresh and flavorful. I really appreciate all that this place has to offer. If you are in Traverse City for the first time, this place is a MUST GO! Get a little touristy and enjoy all that the National Cherry Capitol has to offer

  • Anne M.

Like cherries? Like cherry wine? Like cherry ....everything? Like samples? Check out Cherry Republic! A great spot to check out if you find yourself in the lovely Traverse City area. On my most recent visit, I purchased a wine quartet box (10% discount, y'all!) and a few cans of cherries (aka, "little red morsels of joy") that I can't wait to use in a sure-to-be-delicious cherry pie. Perfect for gift souvenirs (or treats for yourself) as something special from the area. *Good to know: you can sample practically everything here (including the wine), i.e. cherry salsa, chocolates, trail mixes, gummy candies, dried cherries, crackers/chips, coffee, etc. etc. etc. Also, sometimes they have pie.

  • Mel G.

I love this store! I wish they had one where I live in HI (or shipped there) but ah well. Something to look forward to when I visit MI. If you love cherries, this is the place to be! So many samples from salsas to BBQ sauces to chocolate covered cherries and more! They have everything you can imagine. Cool t-shirts and swag too. Oh, if you have Foursquare make sure you check-in. I got a free chocolate cherry coffee for my first check-in! It was so delicious and it took me forever to drink it cause all I wanted to do was smell it. Staff is super friendly and fun. A must visit in TC... "declare all bananas"!

    (5)
  • Alyssa F.

We love the cherry preserves here and order gift boxes for friends/family back home in California. We tried the wine tastings for the first time. Alas, they were out of the cherry wine we wanted to try (late frost killed their cherry harvest).

  • Liz K.

I've loved CR products for a looooooooooong time. I REALLY love coming in here to buy them now. Before I could only get them out in Glen Arbor, which is a bit of a hike for a package of sour cherry candies! There are tons of samples out for you to try, and if something doesn't have a sample but you're curious, they're happy to go get you some from the back. The people pouring at the wine bar are super friendly and chatty too - the hubs went in to get his brother a gift while I was out running some other errands. 45min later I called him to see where he was at- STILL THERE! He was chatting away, having a great time with the staff and fellow tasters. If you get a chance, go in and try their chocolate chile covered cherries which I think are new - they are VERY interesting. HOT too. Definitely try one before you buy - you'd be surprised how much punch they pack. And one bag would last you a looooooooong time since you eat 2 or 3 and are pretty satisfied.

SAMPLES, and complimentary gift boxes. Great gifts, and fun cherry centric snacks. My favorite of the night was dark chocolate covered cherry coffee beans! WOW!

    (5)
  • Becca M.

No seriously, this really is as good as it gets, well if you like cherries. Everything in this store is delicious, I promise you that. t Even the wines are pretty good for cherry wines, which are usually not my thing. The sparkling wine makes a mimosa to die for! Whenever I'm home or someone comes to visit me, I stock up on all the essentials: hot cherry salsa, hot cherry bbq sauce, chocolate covered cherries, and the sour cherry candies. Also, don't forget to try the different cherry pops! The cherry ginger ale is my favorite. And for the adults the cherry hard cider is amazing... and dangerous! Whether you're a local or just visiting... stop in, you can sample just about everything and you will see I'm not lying!

    (5)
  • Ron P.

I am not a fan of things sweet and so I am not the ideal person to offer my opinion of the Cherry Republic's products. The "slightly" pricey items may discourage some purchasing (the early heat and frost of 2012 did inflate the price of cherries in their defense). However, they offer free samples of just about EVERYTHING they sell, which is impressive. My wife loved the Cherry BBQ sauce and the Cherry Salsa; my son loved it all. The combination of unique products and the opportunity to test the wares before purchasing makes this a must-stop location.

    (4)
  • Kris L.

Cherry heaven!! We spent a small fortune in this store, but it was so worth it! Everything cherry - BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, vinegar, peanut butter, salsa, candy, the list goes on... Free wine tastings and soda tastings. Everything was so good here! A must see.

    (5)
  • Amy K.

Free samples of everything :) we had a very friendly server for the wine tasting. Our favorite purchases were their chocolate covered cherries and cherry sangria with a bottle of the cherry ginger ale.

  • Megan T.

This place is nice, but it has become very commercial. They have several locations around Michigan and some of their locations look very commercial retail and not like a local store. This location did not look that way as much, but inside it reminded me of a William Sonoma or another place that you walk in and sample their selection. One of the neat things in there was their soda shop on the right side of the store. If you are on the main street there walking with the rest of the crowd you are probably going to end up strolling in.

    (3)
  • Jill S.

i've never seen so many cherry related food items! the dark chocolate cherries were delicious. free samples of just about everything! free samples of drinks and wine! i tried the cherry hard cider, which was really good

We love the cherry preserves here and order gift boxes for friends/family back home in California. We tried the wine tastings for the first time. Alas, they were out of the cherry wine we wanted to try (late frost killed their cherry harvest).

WOW!

Cherry heaven!! We spent a small fortune in this store, but it was so worth it! Everything cherry - BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, vinegar, peanut butter, salsa, candy, the list goes on... Free wine tastings and soda tastings. Everything was so good here! A must see.

Free samples of everything :) we had a very friendly server for the wine tasting. Our favorite purchases were their chocolate covered cherries and cherry sangria with a bottle of the cherry ginger ale.

Before we moved here, I used to love Cherry Republic. They offer free samples in store and I buy something every time I'm in there. The Cherry Salsa is amazing!
